The problem with Teflon and aluminum is that they dissolve easily into your food, and you end up ingesting them. Other common kitchen items that contain aluminum include aluminum cans, tin foil, and aluminum bake ware. Studies have linked aluminum to Alzheimer’s, cancer, and intestine disorders.
Aluminum is cheap to buy, but it’s not really worth the savings to put you and your family’s health at risk. Aluminum reacts very easily and forms aluminum salts, which cause so much health problems.
As for Teflon, it’s not as bad as aluminum, but it is easily scratched. I like using Teflon myself, just because it’s non-stick; however, I don’t use it very often. If you use Teflon often, follow common sense, and use plastic or wooden, and non-sharp utensils when cooking.
Cooking & Eating Healthy, Delicious Food
It’s pretty tough trying to completely turn around your current diet and replace it with a new one. I know I for one couldn’t and wouldn’t. So what should you do? Keep on cooking the foods you cook now.
Take it slow, one step at a time. Now that you have all the information you need about healthy diets for a healthy digestive system and personal health, you can follow those suggestions a little at a time. Don’t over do it, and you end up discouraged after two weeks of hard work.
What you can do is instead of replacing whole meals and recipes, just replace 1 or 2 of the ingredients with healthier versions. Here are a few quick healthy eating tips:
- Instead of buying frozen veggies, buy fresh ones! They’re not hard to prepare, and taste much better.
- If you must use butter or margarine, buy the low fat types, and use polyunsaturated margarine.
- Use skimmed milk instead of homo milk.
- Always buy less processed foods. For example, instead of buying white flour, try whole grain flour.
- Eat less meat, period.
- Instead of buying those TV dinners, make your own from fresh and healthy ingredients.
It’s very simple to have a healthy AND delicious diet. The Quick and Easy Chinese Vegetarian Cooking cookbook package has over 130 delicious Chinese vegetarian dishes, and complimentary books to show you how to cook and prepare healthy meals, and also includes a book just about cooking ingredients.
